HALF DAY WALKING TOUR
Visit St.Mark’s Square, one of the most famous squares
in the world, the St.Mark’s Basilica built in the
Byzantine style in the 11th century and richly decorated with magnificent
mosaics, the 9th century Doge’s Palace which was
the official residence of the Doges and seat of the republic’s government,
the Bridge of Sighs which connects the Doge’s Palace
to Venice’s old prisons, the Rialto Bridge halfway
along the canal, built in the 16th century and designed to allow
an armed gallery to pass under it.

EXCURSION TO THE ISLANDS
Tour to the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello.
First stop in Murano, which is a great glass-making
centre since 1292 and visit an important glass factory.
Then to Burano with its splashing colours, a fishing
village known for its lace-making and its brightly-painted houses.
Tour ending with the visit of Torcello, the first
island to be inhabited in the lagoon. See the Byzantine mosaics
in the cathedral.
