MILAN
Milan is Italy’s capital of fashion, finance and the second city as regards population, politics and cultural affairs. The city has celtic origins but it was the Romans who subdued the city of Mediolanum in 222 BC and ensured a certain prosperity. From the 13th century the city flourished under the rule of two powerful families: the Visconti and, later, the Sforza. |
