PERUGIA
Perugia is a very ancient hill town, situated in the Umbria region, in a valley between Florence and Rome. It rose to power during the time of the Etruscans. It was controlled by the Romans and invaded by the barbarians after the fall of the Roman Empire. Today Perugia is a splendid city of art and the residence of a very famous university. Its centre is rich in beautiful buildings and monuments.

Assisi represents an ensemble of masterpieces of human creative genius which have made it a fundamental reference for art history in Europe and in the world. The interchange of artistic and spiritual message of the Franciscan Order has significantly contributed to developments in art and architecture in the world. |

FULL DAY TO UMBRIA REGION (PERUGIA & ASSISI)
Reach Umbria, known as the "Green heart of Italy". It's the only province of central Italy without a coastline and its landscape is formed by the Appenine Mountains that majestically cross the region. Lush woodlands and fields, hills and mountains look down on river valleys.
Guided tour of Perugia to see the Gothic austere Duomo, the 13th century Palazzo dei Priori, the 13th century Fontana Maggiore, the Paolina Fortress, ruins of a massive 16th century fortress, the Church of San Pietro which was built in the 10th century and remodelled at the Renaissance.
Afternoon drive to Assisi. See the great St. Francis’ Basilica composed of two churches, one on top of the other. The whole building was built after the death of St. Francis. Then see the impressively frescoed 13th century Basilica di Santa Chiara and the massive 14th century Rocca Maggiore fortress.
